Comic opera on stage at BGSU
The Bowling Green Opera Theater presents the comic opera "Patience" by Gilbert and Sullivan
Saturday at 2 p.m. at Bowling Green State University’s Wooster Street Center, 1124 E. Wooster St.
The sixth collaboration between W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan, the opera pokes fun at the manners and
attitudes of the artistes of the time.
National bluegrass band brings act to Maumee venue
MAUMEE – National bluegrass act New Found Road will perform Monday at 7 p.m. in the Maumee Indoor
Theater, 601 Conant St. Opening will be Faces Made for Radio from central Ohio. Tickets are $15. Call

PBS documentary ‘Objectified’ shown, discussed at BGSU
The "Independent Lens" documentary "Objectified" will be shown at Bowling Green State
University on Nov. 20 at 2 p.m. Olscamp Hall Room 113 followed by a WBGU-PBS Program Club discussion at
3 p.m..
The program looks at consumers’ relationship with manufactured objects, the people who design them and
the creative process behind their work.
‘Codebreakers’ will be the topic of program club at Way Library
PERRYSBURG – "Dayton Codebreakers" will be the focus of the WBGU-PBS Program Club discussion at
the Way Public Library Nov. 19 at noon.
This program will be shown at the library at 11 a.m. prior to the discussion.
"Dayton Codebreakers" tells the story how the National Cash Register Company in Dayton was
approached by the United States Navy to design and build code-breaking machines during World War II. The
high-priority and highly classified project involved hundreds of civilians, Naval officers and one
engineer of German descent, Joseph Desch, whose insight and technical ability helped break the complex
Enigma code.
Toledo Symphony presents Mozart & More at Lourdes
SYLVANIA – The Toledo Symphony Orchestra’s Mozart & More Series continues with "The Magic
Flute, Plus… Beethoven’s 4th" Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at Franciscan Center on the Lourdes College
campus.
The orchestra, conducted by Tito Munoz, will perform W.A. Mozart’s "Overture to The Magic
Flute," Richard Wagner’s "Siegfried Idyll" and Ludwig von Beethoven’ "Symphony No.
4."

Playshop casting comedy
WATERVILLE – The Waterville Playshop will hold auditions for the karaoke comedy "Don’t Hug Me"
Nov. 20 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Nov. 22 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 22 N. Second St.
The play, directed by John Oster, has books and lyrics by Phil Olson. Set is northern Minnesota during
winter carnival.
