Colleen M. Lahey, 54, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Kingston Residence of Sylvania
after a brave 15-month battle with brain cancer.
She was born in Toledo on September 15, 1955 to Kenneth C. and Irene M. (Schaad) Lahey, and was a
graduate of Lake High School, Millbury.
Colleen served our country for 25 years in the Ohio Army National Guard, retiring as Sergeant First Class
working as a Construction Engineer Supervisor.
She continued her education at Owens Community College where she received her associate’s degree in
Medical Technology.
She was employed at the Lucas County Veterans Administration as an Investigator at the time of her
illness and was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, Toledo, where she was active in the Stewardship
Program.
Colleen enjoyed many adventurous vacations with her sister and friends. She loved spending time outdoors
and enjoying nature.
She will be deeply missed by her father, Kenneth, Walbridge; brothers, Dennis (Vicki) Lahey, Curtice;
Kevin Lahey, Toledo; Thomas (Debbie) Lahey, Woodville; James (Susie) Lahey, Perrysburg; and sister,
Laura (Bryan) Miller, Toledo; along with many dear nieces and nephews.
Colleen was preceded in death by her mother, Irene Lahey.
A special thank you to the staff of Kingston Residence and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the care and
support they provided.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 in the Witzler-Shank Funeral
Home, 701 N. Main Street, Walbridge (419-666-3121).
Prayers will be recited Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 10:15 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial
at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Parish, Toledo, with Rev. Frank K. Eckart presiding. Burial will be in St.
Rose Cemetery, Perrysburg.
Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Sacred Heart
Parish.
