Donald Charles Flick, 77 of Bowling Green, Ohio and formerly of Deshler, Ohio passed away Friday, October
23, 2009.
Don was born in Holgate, Ohio to the late Donald and Helen (Ritz) Flick. He married Marilyn Jean Bibler
December 29, 1954 in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Deshler and she survives in Bowling Green. Also surviving
are a son: Donald (Lorraine) Flick of Bowling Green; two daughters: Debra (Jeffrey) Pinchoff and Annette
(Thomas) Teet both of Bowling Green; a brother: Neil (Linda) Flick of Deshler; seven grandchildren:
Destry (Beth) Flick of Athens, Ohio; Dillon and Grant Flick both of Bowling Green; Briana, Drew and
Chelsey DeVore and Jenna Teet all of Bowling Green.
Don was a 1950 Deshler High School graduate and in 1951 graduated from Toledo Barber School. He proudly
served his country in the United States Navy on board the USS Monongahela and the USS Beale during the
Korean War.
He was a very well-known businessman in Bowling Green. For over twenty-five years he barbered and managed
the S&S Barbershop and worked as a salesman for Hoover Realty and Century 21(now known as A.A.
Green Realty) He also was Broker for Broker Realty. He served as Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troup #422
for many years and was the Wood County Fair Manager during the 1970’s. Don was a member of the Bowling
Green Country Club, the American Legion Post #45 where he served as Past Commander, and St. Mark’s
Lutheran Church where he served on church council and enjoyed singing in the choir. Don was a loving
husband, father, brother and grandpa. He will be remembered for all the good times he gave his family
and friends whether it was on the golf course or at the kitchen table making everyone laugh.
Visitation will be Monday, October 26, 2009 from 2:00–8:00 PM in the DECK-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME &
CREMATORY, 1460 W. Wooster St., PO Box 648, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402; Tele: 419/352-2171. The Funeral
Service will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 315 South
College, Bowling Green with burial to follow in McComb Union Cemetery with military honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church or the American Diabetes Association or Bridge Hospice,
1204 W. Wooster Street, Bowling Green, Ohio.
