Rossford honors
Vedra fire service
ROSSFORD — The Rossford Firefighters Association will follow a pancake breakfast Sunday by honoring the
Vedra family for 125 years of service.
The breakfast runs from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with the dedication of a new rescue engine in the
Vedra’s name at 1 p.m.
Family members who have served include Matt Sr. (deceased), Matt Jr., who also served as police chief;
Steve, who served more than 40 years and also on council; Bill (deceased) served over 40 years; Bill Jr.
served as EMS captain, is a retired chief in Columbus and Ohio homeland security director; and John, who
was fire chief and is a captain in Toledo.
The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children.
Lake Twp. food pantry open
WALBRIDGE — The mobile food pantry will be open Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at fire station 1, 4505 Walbridge
Road.
The pantry is available to all Lake Township residents. Residents should bring identification, proof of
residency and bring bags for the food.
A Hannah’s socks representative will be there.

levy forum
PEMBERVILLE — A forum to discuss a 2.64-mill bond issue and a 0.75 mill levy for permanent improvements
for Eastwood schools will be held Monday at 6:30 p.m. in the middle school.
Both tax issues, which are for new building construction, are on the Nov. 3 ballot.
The board of education meeting will follow.
