Woman, two daughters attacked by dog

BAIRDSTOWN — A woman and her two daughters were attacked by a loose dog in this southern Wood County
village Thursday afternoon, according to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred about 3 p.m. when an eight-year-old girl was attacked. Her 11-year-old sister came
to her aid and was also attacked. At that point their mother, Stephanie S. Rock came to their aid and
was also attacked.
The husband and father, then shot and killed the dog.
The mother and daughters were taken to Wood County Hospital for treatment. One of the daughters was later
taken to a Toledo hospital for additional treatment.
Wood County officials have not identified the owner of the dog but report that charges are pending.
The incident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office and the Wood County Dog Warden.
Bairdstown sits between the villages of North Baltimore and Bloomdale on Ohio 18.
