Paul Warren Myers, 74, of Bowling Green, and most recently a resident at Otterbein- Portage Valley, died
peacefully at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Thursday, October 15th, 2009.
Paul was born October 27, 1934 in McClure, Ohio, to the late Edith Mae Dauer and Warren Sharp Myers. He
was married to Mary Alice Kepler on April 18, 1959 in Melbern, (West of Bryan) Ohio, and she preceded
him in death on January 6, 1969.
He was also preceded in death by his only sister, Mary Ellen Wilburn on February 23, 2001.
Surviving are his son, Timothy L. (Cathy) Myers, Bowling Green; daughter, Joy L. Hobson, Bowling Green;
grandchildren Theresa, Andrea and Emily Myers, at home, Jimmie Hobson Jr., Bowling Green, and Jennifer
Hobson at home.
Paul was a graduate of McClure High School and an alumnus of Bowling Green State University, where he
received his degree in Chemistry in the Liberal Arts College plus a degree in Education.
He began his teaching career with Westwood Schools as their Chemistry and Physics teacher. When Westwood
consolidated with the Bowling Green School District he became BG’s Pre-Algebra teacher, later switching
to seventh grade math and finally retiring after 34 years of teaching as a ninth grade science teacher.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Bowling Green, for 50 years. He was also a former
Assistant Cub Master of Pack 338, Basketball referee and poll worker for the Wood County Board of
Elections.
Paul enjoyed his retirement by teaching computer courses at Wood County Senior Center, attending Black
Swamp Players productions, where he was a Sponsor member, working picture and Suduko puzzles, and was an
avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and Browns.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with
visitation one hour previous to the service and also on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Dunn Funeral
Home. Interment will follow the service at Hockman Cemetery in McClure.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to American Heart Association, Hospice of
Northwest Ohio, First United Methodist Church, BG, Erie Shores Boy Scout Council or Otterbein-Portage
Valley.
