180th OANG in flight in Toledo this weekend
Members of the 180th Fighter Wing of the Ohio Air National Guard will take part today and Saturday in an
Operational Readiness Exercise at Toledo Express Airport.
Residents who live near the base may see or hear additional flying extending into the evening, notice
smoke, the sound of explosions, sirens or other unusual activities associated with the exercise.
Free health screenings on Sunday
PERRYSBURG – Free health screenings will be provided Sunday afternoon at the Perrysburg Walgreens at
10003 Fremont Pike. The screenings, valued at more than $140, will be offered from noon to 6 p.m.
The six free screenings (available for adults 18 and over) include total cholesterol levels, blood
pressure, bone density, glucose levels, waist circumference and body mass index.
Free one-year AARP memberships will be given to all adults who receive screenings. Participants under the
age of 50 can pass on the free membership to an eligible adult.
Existing AARP members will receive a one-year extension on their current membership.
The screenings are part of the AARP/Walgreens Wellness Tour, with custom-equipped buses that are staffed
with trained medical technicians.
Perrysburg starts leaf collection
PERRYSBURG – The city will begin fall leaf collection on Monday. All leaves must be put out for
collection by Nov. 29. The city will be covered several times during this period. Collection will resume
Nov. 30 for the final sweep. Leaves put out once crews have been by will not be picked up.
Residents are asked to: rake leaves to the right-of-way between the curb and sidewalk and not in the
street; keep storm drains in front homes clear of debris; refrain from piling leaves near mailboxes; and
refrain from parking in front of leaf piles. Leaves should be piled and not bagged.
There is leaf pickup only. There is no leaf pickup in alleys.
