Beth A. Hoot, 68, of Bloomdale, Ohio, died Monday, October 12, 2009 at Bridge Hospice Care Center,
Findlay, Ohio.
She was born May 1, 1941, in Lancaster, Ohio, to Charles L. and D. Evelyn (Fisher) Westenberger. She
married Kenneth A. Hoot on February 14, 1965 in Lancaster, Ohio, and he survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Kendra Hoot and Cheryl (Andy) Shaeffer, all of Columbus, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Beth was head of the Physical Therapy Department at Wood County Hospital from 1965 to 2006.
She was a longtime member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Bowling Green, Ohio, where she was involved in
women’s circle, dream team, reality team, motor ministry and hospitality ministry. She helped with the
West Millgrove Volunteer Fire Department annual fish fry for many years.
Mrs. Hoot was a 1959 graduate of Lancaster High School, and a 1963 graduate of The Ohio State University
with a science BA degree in the College of Arts and Sciences.
The Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, October 15, 2009 at St. Mark’s
Lutheran Church, 315 S. College Drive, Bowling Green. Reverend Dale L. Schaefer will officiate. Burial
will be in Riverview Cemetery, West Millgrove. A fellowship meal will follow at the church.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Barndt Funeral Home, Wayne.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church’s Organ Fund, Bridge Home Health and
Hospice, or West Millgrove Volunteer Fire Department.
