Cross Country: BG boys edge Elmwood to win at Fostoria

Bowling Green’s boys cross country team won the 17-team Fostoria Invitational at Fostoria High School
Saturday.
The Bobcats finished with 83 points, one point ahead of second-place Elmwood.
Eastwood was third with 141 points.
Otsego was 13th with 309 points.
BG had five runners finish in the 25, led by Kevin Budge, who finished fifth in a time of 17:04.
Other results for the Bobcats were: Brian Seymour, ninth, 17:17; Nolan Saneholtz, 21st, 17:44; Brian
Budge, 24th, 17:47; and Jared Ellinger, 25th, 17:48.
For Elmwood, Nick Goebel was second overall with a time of 16:13.
Other results for the Royals were: Dexter Lee, seventh, 17:14; Wes Lee, 10th, 17:19; Josh Boes, 27th,
17:51; and Conlan Varty, 39th, 18:18.
Results for Eastwood were: Nick Twining, fifth, 17:09; Chase Baldwin, 22nd, 17:45; Michael Bratton, 31st,
18:00; Dustin Herrick, 37th, 18:12; and Darin Goodman, 47th, 18:26.
Results for Otsego were: Josh Wazelle, 16th, 17:31; Jeffery Hoffman, 46th, 18:25; Hunter Van Horn, 63rd,
18:51; Jacob Stephens, 123rd, 20:27; and Harrison Stough, 135th, 20:42.
Lakota 18th at Anna
At Anna, Lakota’s boys finished 18th out of 25 teams with 439 points at the Rocket Invitational at Anna
High School Saturday. Bethel took the team championship with 116 points.
Results for the Raiders were: Kyle Babcock, seventh, 17:05; Zac Baker, 80th, 18:54; Austin Garber, 96th,
19:08; Tyler Aldrich, 151st, 20:13; and Michael Franzone, 153rd, 20:15.
GIRLS
Elmwood third at Fostoria
At Fostoria High School, Elmwood finished third out of 17 teams with 107 points at the Fostoria Booster
Invitational Saturday. Maumee was first with 42 points and Oak Harbor was second with 74.
Bowling Green took fourth with 135 points, Eastwood was 12th with 323 points, and Rossford was 13th with
362 points.
Results for Elmwood were: Darla Heimann, 12th, 20:55; Bethany Flage, 18th, 21:05; Miranda Wagner, 20th,
21:08; Ashley Wolfe, 27th, 21:29; and Addy Mathias, 33rd, 21:35.
BG’s Cortney Haubert took second overall with a time of 19:53.

Lakota 12th at Anna
At Anna, Lakota finished 12th out of 20 teams with 367 points at the Rocket Invitational at Anna High
School Saturday. Mason took the team title with 65 points.
Julia Windom finished seventh overall in a time of 20:03 to lead the Raiders.
