Raymond Austin (Jack) Shaffer, age 78 of Bowling Green, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009 at Wood County
Hospital with his family by his side.
He was born July 1, 1931 to Herbert and Anna Dayden Shaffer in Sugar Ridge Ohio.
Jack was an avid Detroit Tigers, Otsego Knights and Jeff Gordon fan.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Ruth Ann (Hill) Shaffer; daughters Tracy Doremus, Toni (Jerry)
Herman and Tammi (Greg) Zbinden; sisters Ardanelle (Tootie) Smith and Deanna (Bob) Phillips; brothers
Frank (Jackie) Shaffer, Merill (Kate) Shaffer and Robert (Jeannie) Shaffer; 8 grandchildren and 8
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret and Marcella, four brothers, Lyle Shaffer, Bud, Kenny,
Harold and one granddaughter Kyli Doremus.
Friends and family may call Thursday, October 8, 2009 from 4 p.m. until the time of service at
7 p.m. at Peinert Funeral Home, Tontogany, Ohio. Pastor Gary Bair will officiate.
Memorial donations may be made to family to help with Medical expenses.
