Dr. David Gedeon

Dr. David V. Gedeon died Monday, October 5th, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center Hospital, surrounded by
family and friends, after an accident at home.
Dr. Gedeon taught electronics in the College of Technology at Bowling Green State University from 1964 to
2007. He developed the Master of Technology program, was professor of the year twice (once in the
College of Education, and once in the College of Technology), and was Educator of the Year for Epsilon
Pi Tau National Honorary.
He was well loved because of his generous and selfless service to others, including Family of the Year in
Bowling Green, Volunteer of the Year for Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation, Volunteer of the Year for
the Web of Life Center in Nagatuck, West Virginia. He was also a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and
supervised the monthly soup kitchen at Helping Hands of St. Louis of Toledo.
David is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sheryl; his children: Mark (Mindy) Gedeon, Topher (Colleen)
Gedeon, Matthew (Joanie) Gedeon, Samantha (John) Bibart, Amanda (Bill) Dorman, and Hannah (Nick)
Lombardi; and brother: Wayne Gedeon. He was preceded in death by son, Benjamin. Also surviving are his
grandchildren: Alexis, Jack, Eric, Ben, Braeden, Mallory, Seth, Jonathan, and Zachary.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 8th, at DUNN FUNERAL HOME, 408 W. Wooster St., Bowling Green,
Ohio (located in the Historical District of Bowling Green) from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, with a Scripture Service
at 8:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10:00 am at St. Thomas More Parish. Rev. Michael
Dandurand will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
