FOSTORIA – Marcia Ann Derr, 64, of Fostoria, died Sept. 30, 2009 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health
Center in Findlay.
She was born March 16, 1945 in Fostoria to James P. and Erma E. (Moorehead) Rice. She married Denny W.
Smith, and they divorced. She later married Richard L. Derr on April 1, 1988 in Wayne, and he survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Veronica A. Rice, Fostoria; two stepdaughters, Katina L. (Jonathan Sr.)
Jones, of Hamilton, and Donna M. Hohman, Toledo; two stepsons, Brian K. (Lea) Derr, Risingsun, and Brent
E. Derr, Toledo; a brother, David E. (Robert G. McCally) Rice, Sarasota, Fla.; two nieces, Melissa K.
Rice, Miami, Fla., and Lorraine Price, Atlanta, Ga.; one great-niece, Amber E. Rice, of Miami; eight
grandchildren, ATricia Hohman, Elizabeth Beckley, Trever Hohman, Andrew Derr, Tad Jones, Brandon Jones,
Jesse Jones, Jonathan Jones Jr. and Jaelin Jones; and five great-grandchildren, Emma Beckley, Riley
Beckley, David Beckley IV, Kelsey Hohman and Eli Hill.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband.
Marcia was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
She was a 1963 graduate of Fostoria High School.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 6 p.m. at Barndt Funeral Home, Wayne. Pastor Sam Suman will
officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay.
