Vitakraft Sun Seed gets grant for relocation costs

The State Controlling Board in Columbus has approved more than $1.1 million in economic development
grants to aid business growth in Ohio. The grants are administered by the Ohio Department of Development
and are expected to create 1,000 new jobs and retain 1,518 positions.
Vitakraft Sun Seed, Inc. will receive a $20,000 Rapid Outreach Grant for the costs associated with
acquisition of machinery and equipment, as well as relocation costs in support of the company’s project
in the Village of Weston. Vitakraft is a manufacturer of foods for birds and small animal, and sells its
products under a number of brands. This $1.3 million project is expected to create 15 jobs and retain 84
positions.
"Strategic investments position Ohio for long-term growth, attracting a diverse array of innovative
businesses that align with our state’s strategic assets," said Lisa Patt-McDaniel, interim director
of the Ohio Department of Development. "Ohio is committed to enhancing our state’s business
environment through targeted investments in the growing sectors of our economy."
