Help raise $32,000 for the woods

Joan Mantel and Tod Butler (front row) were among the more than 300 people who attended the Save the
Woods wine and cheese social and auction on Friday. This year’s total of $32,000 was more than double
what the wine and cheese party made last year, according to Margaret Tucker, chair of the Save the Woods
campaign. Last year’s event raised $13,000 with the addition of both live and silent auctions. Prior to
last year, she said, the fundraiser made between $5,000 and $6,000 each year. New this year was the
active participation of three of Bowling Green’s largest service organizations – the Kiwanis, Rotary and
Exchange clubs.Joan Mantel and Tod Butler (front row) were among the more than 300 people who attended
