Gerald Bowser, 88, of McComb, died at 10:15 a.m., Sunday, September 27, 2009, at the Briar Hill Health
Campus, North Baltimore.
He was born on November 22, 1920, in Wood County to the late Bernie V. and Frances E. (Slaughter-beck)
Bowser. He married Vera Miller on June 15, 1957, and she survives.
Also surviving are sons: Terry (Shirlene) of McComb, David (Kathy) of Jerry City and Daniel Lee Bowser of
McComb; a daughter, Diana (Dennis) Flanagan of West Lafayette, IN; a brother, Richard (Carol) Bowser of
Bowling Green; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A son, Gerald Bowser, Jr. and several brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
Gerald retired after 55 years from D.S. Brown.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served our country in World War II.
He was a member of the North Baltimore American Legion Post 539 and was an avid gardener.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 1, 2009, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North
Baltimore, with Pastor Chester C. Conley officiating. Burial will be in New Maplewood Cemetery, North
Baltimore, where full military rites will be conducted by the North Baltimore American Legion Post 539.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.
