Pemberville class of 1944 gathers for 65-year reunion

PEMBERVILLE – On Sept. 18 a group of 22 classmates, spouses and daughters of the Pember-ville High School
Class of 1944 met at the Pemberville American Legion Hall for a reunion dinner. Marcena Bockbrader gave
the invocation and a reading.
Victoria Wheeler, daughter of Peggy (classmate) and Howard Wheeler, sang the hymn "The King of Love
My Shepherd Is."
A business meeting was held and many photos taken.
Attending were Marianne and Ned Alexander, Lenore and Ed Aring, Marcena and Lee Bockbrader, Beverly
Bockbrader, Audrey Guernsey, Robert Heckman and daughters, Sarah and Paul Huffman, Geraldine McGue,
Annette and John Michel, Ardella Rolf and daughter, Peggy and Howard Wheeler, and Helen Wice. Of these,
12 are classmates.
There are 15 living members from the original graduating class of 22. Letters from absent classmates
Marilyn Conaghan and Eleanore and Gregory Richards were read.
The class plans to meet again next year.
