Four Seasons Garden Club
PERRYSBURG – The club met Sept. 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the 577 Foundation. Members gathered in a quaint
cottage before touring the grounds and dome greenhouse. Afterward, they enjoyed ice cream sundaes
provided by the hostesses.
President Jane Kohlenberg opened the meeting, with 14 members naming their favorite greenhouse.
Renee Wendt, flower show chairperson, distributed comments and ideas gathered from the Pemberville Flower
Show. The judges rated the show as excellent, giving 98 out of a possible 100 points. Kohlenberg gave
Wendt a token of thanks for her work as 2009 chairperson.
Eileen Schuerman will mail membership information to Terry Long, who expressed interested in joining the
club. Anyone interested in joining is invited to attend a meeting. They are usually held the first
Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Pemberville Library.
Members discussed the upcoming perennial sale at Pemberville’s Autumn Fest, on the fourth Saturday of
October. Start thinking of what to bring; the club may be setting up by the library parking lot this
year. Eileen Schuerman stated she needs iris bulbs and they can be dropped off to her any time.
Faye Schuerman has been working on the club cookbook, in hopes that it is ready to sell at the October
Perennial Sale.
Kohlenberg installed the 2009-10 officers: President – Shannon Wright, vice president – Fahle, treasurer
– Teri Hansen, and secretary – Wendt.
The next meeting will be held Oct. 5 at 7at the library, with Kristen Meyer and Deb Kruke-myer hosts.
Roll call will be: What flower do you collect seeds from? The program is to decorate a trick-or-treat
glass cube.
