‘Monsters vs. Aliens’ movie showing in Wayne
WAYNE — Kids in first through fifth grade are welcome to attend the showing of the newly-released movie
“Monsters vs. Aliens” on Oct. 17 beginning at 2 p.m. at the public library.
Registration is required and space is limited. Registration forms can be picked up at the library.
Make a scarecrow for library
PEMBERVILLE — A create-a-scarecrow contest for display in front of the public library is going on through
Oct. 1.
Scarecrows may be set up Oct. 3 and 4. Judging will be Oct. 5 and ribbons will be awarded to the top
three entries.
The contest is open to all ages and there is no entry fee. Participants are limited to users of the
Pemberville Library.

Take classes in self-defense and cheerleading in BG
Self-defense and cheerleading classes for boys and girls ages 4 to 15 are being offered at City Park
through All American Youth Activities in coordination with Bowling Green Parks and Recreation.
The Young Champions Self-Defense courses cover stranger danger techniques. Basic through Black Belt
skills will be taught.
Classes are Tuesdays at the Veteran’s Building, 532 Legion Dr. They started Tuesday and will be held for
approximately 13 weeks; late registrations are accepted. There are no classes Dec. 22 and 29. Classes
are $7 each. Registration is $7.
Cheer America Cheerleading teaches choreographed pom and dance routines, jumps, chants and other skills
required for school tryouts.
Class will be held 6 to 6:45 Mondays for eight weeks in the Scout Building, 417 Memorial Dr. They started
Monday; late registrations are accepted. There is no class Oct. 22. The fee is $45.
