Kitchen of Hope serves free meal
PERRYSBURG – The Kitchen of Hope will be serving a free lunch on Friday at Zoar Lutheran Church, 314 E.
Indiana Ave., from noon until 1:30 p.m.
This meal is free to all Wood County residents on fixed incomes, including participants of the summer
"Feed Our Families" program and senior citizens.
Orders will also be taken at this time for the "Great Food For All" program.

‘Blue Bird’ marks 40th anniversary
The historic Toledo, Lake Erie & Western Railway, home of the “Blue Bird” train, is celebrating
40 years on Saturday and Sunday at its depot at 49 N. 6th St., Waterville. Events are planned from noon
to 5 p.m. each day.
Saturday will feature “Camera Obscura” with Jon Stealy, circa 1794. A local author will highlight Sunday
at 2 p.m, along with square dancers.
The depot holds the gift shop where train enthusiasts can find specialty items related to the railroad.

To help in the restoration process, the society would also welcome stories, photos and memorabilia from
the community about the train, boarding and riding the train. It also hopes to recruit new members to
help “Preserve the Past for the Future.” The organization asks for 20 hours of volunteer work over the
year.
Red Cross needs blood
The American Red Cross will hold a bloodmobile on Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30
p.m., at Stadium View Apartments, 1700 Juniper Dr. in Bowling Green.
On Monday, donors can stop at the Pemberville American Legion, 405 E. Front St., from 1 to 7 p.m.
Bobcat bands join forces Friday
The Bowling Green High School and Middle School bands will share the field Friday for the Bobcat football
game against Perrysburg. Reviving a tradition that has been dormant for several years, the high school
and eighth grade bands will perform a combined half-time show featuring classic rock tunes.
The 200-plus member band will be under the direction of Karen Smith, Adam Landry and Bruce Corrigan.
On Saturday, the BGHS band will perform with the university’s Falcon band as part of its Band Day
tradition. That performance will be during halftime of the Boise State game.

Canal Market helps food pantry
GRAND RAPIDS – A recent story on the Otsego Food Pantry receiving $750 from the Grand Rapids Chamber of
Commerce should have included Canal Market among the list of supermarkets at which food is bought to
supply the pantry. Canal Market provides special opportunities for the pantry’s purchases.
Bazaar helps ISOH/IMPACT
ISOH/IMPACT will be hosting a charity bazaar at its warehouse located at 905 Farnsworth Road in
Waterville from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday.
This special "Donation Only" event, being held during Waterville’s Roche de Boeuf Festival,
will feature a wide variety of new and used items with all proceeds supporting ISOH/IMPACT’s child
sponsorship and medical rehabilitation programs.
