Kimberly "Kimi" Dora Young, 22, of Wayne, Ohio, died Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at The
University Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio.
She was born September 27, 1986, in Norwich, Connecticut to Bryan C. and Cathy J. (Hanrahan) Young, and
both survive in Wayne.
Also surviving are her maternal grandfather, Lawrence Hanrahan of Norwich; her paternal grandparents,
Mack and Maxine Miller, Bowling Green, and James and Maryann Young, Conway, South Carolina; a sister,
Catherine Young, Wayne; three brothers, Ryan (Mandy) Young of Wayne, who is currently serving in Kuwait;
Daniel Young and Lincoln Young, also both of Wayne; along with aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Derrick Young.
Kimi graduated from Miami University in December 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in International Studies,
Journalism and Art, and a minor in French and Spanish.
She was a member of Mt. Zion United Brethren Church, Wayne. She also was a member of Young Life at both
Elmwood High School and Miami University.
Ms. Young was a 2004 honors graduate of Elmwood High School and was secretary of her senior class.
Kimi loved life and was a friend to all. Her bubbly smile was present wherever she went.
She loved getting together with friends, family, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins to goof around
and have fun.
She took her responsibilities seriously and was conscientious in all that she accomplished.
She had great empathy for those in trouble and was ready to assist those in need. She was a giving young
lady who loved the Lord and sought his will for her life.
She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Her legacy will be remembered as one who knew how to be a friend, how to live life to its fullest and how
to be gracious. Phil 4:4-7
The funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Mt. Zion United Brethren
Church, Wayne, Ohio. Officiating will be Pastor Lee Hiney and Pastor Mike Soltis. Burial will be in
Graham Cemetery, Wayne.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Barndt Funeral Home, Wayne. Additional visitation will
be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Memorial donations will be accepted in lieu of flowers to Mt. Zion United Brethren Church to help the
family with expenses.
