NORTH BALTIMORE – Five people, including a North Baltimore village councilman, were cited by North
Baltimore police officers for their participation in a fight early Sunday morning.
Police were dispatched to 502 Sloan St. shortly before 1 a.m. following several calls of a large fight in
progress.
One of the four people outside the residence was Councilman Aaron Patterson of Third Street. He told
police he left the Eagles Lounge with Thomas and Shelly Hillard of Maple Street (in Hillard’s SUV), when
a vehicle with three men followed them closely and tailgated them. The vehicle then left and parked at
502 Sloan.
The men in the second vehicle were later identified as Chad Herr, Sloan Street; Jeremy Martinez, Findlay;
and Mario Hernandez, also of Findlay.
Patterson told police he and his friends went around the block and came back to the Sloan Street
residence. He got out and asked the subjects, who’d gotten out of their vehicle, what their problem was,
when one of them punched him in the face. A second male joined in the fight. When Thomas Hillard got out
of the vehicle to help Patterson, the third male jumped him.
Shelly Hillard told police she used her cell phone to call another friend, who arrived to help break up
the fight.
Patterson, Thomas Hillard, Herr and Martinez were cited for disorderly conduct and are scheduled to
appear in mayor’s court.
Police found Hernandez, who left the scene, about an hour later at the residence. He was arrested for
obstructing official business, disorderly conduct and possession of drugs, and was transported to the
Wood County Justice Center.
