Rossford provides training for substitute teachers

ROSSFORD – Do you have a non-educational bachelor degree and have an interest in becoming a substitute
teacher? The Rossford School District is hosting a free in-service for those individuals interested in
learning more about substitute teaching. Individuals without teaching experience, as well as current
substitutes, are invited to attend.
The in-service will take place on Oct. 5 from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at Bulldog Hall, 719 Dixie Highway.
Check-in begins at 7:45 a.m. Reservations are due by Sept. 28 to Lisa Spotts at the Rossford Board of
Education Office, (419) 666-2010.
The goal for the in-service is to assist substitute teachers in feeling more comfortable, more prepared
and more confident at each grade level. Information will be shared on the nuances of each building,
classroom management strategies for grades K-12 and questions will be answered.
Each participant will receive a handbook, which includes helpful information and procedures for each
building, organizational tools and resource information.
