Christmas quilt block exchange slated
NORTH BALTIMORE – The North Baltimore Public Library, in collaboration with the Crossroads Quilt Club,
will host a Christmas Quilt Block Exchange workshop on Sept. 19, a Saturday.
Participants will meet at 10 a.m. in the library Wolfe Community Room, 230 N. Main St., where they will
purchase, from the exchange team, ½ yard of focus fabric at a cost of $3.
Quilters are to use the focus fabric along with Christmas fabric from their own stash to make 12
unfinished 12 ½-inch blocks following the chosen pattern for each block.
The team will provide several block patterns with instructions, or quilters may use their own pattern.

Workshoppers are invited to bring a sack lunch along with their sewing machines, Christmas fabrics,
necessary quilting supplies and begin creating their blocks.
The day ends at 4 p.m.
On Nov. 7 quilters will return to the library for a "Finished Block Exchange."
Participants are required to come to the library to register and pick up a sheet of guidelines along with
a swatch of sample focus fabric.
Monday is the registration deadline.
Library hours are Monday – Thursday, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.; Fridays, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.; and Saturdays 10 a.m. –
