Mona Eikum of Clarkston, Washington, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2009 from natural causes at
Lifecare Center of Lewiston, Idaho.
Born on March 16, 1922 in Genesee, Idaho, the daughter of Jess and Henrietta (Bottjer) Myers, she
attended the University of Idaho and earned a Master of Arts degree before moving with her husband, Rex
Eikum, and two young sons to Bloomington, Indiana in 1963, and then to Bowling Green, Ohio in 1967.
She worked for the State of Ohio as an Instructional Resource Specialist until her retirement when she
moved back to Clarkston, residing there for the last 20 years.
Mona was a talented singer and musician, teaching private lessons in voice and piano and playing church
organ for many years. She was a lover of the Arts, especially musical theater and opera, and attended
performances whenever she could.
She is survived by sons, Kerry Rosenau of Clarkston; Jan Eikum of Crystal Lake, Illinois; and Kevin Eikum
of Ottawa Lake, Michigan; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren, cousins and many good
friends.
