Jean F. Witt, 79, of Perrysburg and formerly of Palm Coast, FL, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2009 at
Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born December 26, 1929 in Queens, NY to Walter and Lillian (Delaney)
Fenton and was married February 9, 1957 to Joseph J. Witt in Forest Hills, NY.
For over 33 years, Jean was a third grade teacher, retiring from Port Jefferson School District in Long
Island, NY in 1988. Jean loved life and all it had to offer. She enjoyed dancing, water aerobics and
served as social director for a Palm Coast senior group. She was a member of Blessed John XXIII in
Perrysburg.
She is survived by her sons, David J. (Sandra) Witt of Perrysburg and Dennis F. (Patricia) Witt of
Langhorne, PA; son-in-law, Alex Wasilewski; grandchildren, Megan, Steve, Jennifer and Michael Witt; step
grandchildren, Carol (David) Emmerman and Nancy Wasilewski; and sister, Doris (Edward) Murphy of
Trinity, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; daughter, Deborah Wasilewski and parents,
Walter and Lillian Fenton.
Friends will be received from 5-9 p.m. on Monday in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South
Boundary, Perrysburg (419-874-3133). Prayers will be recited in the funeral home at 9:45 A.M. on
Tuesday, September 1, 2009 followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. at Blessed John XXIII,
24250 Dixie Highway (just south of Roachton) in Perrysburg with the Rev. Herb Weber officiating. Burial
will be private at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY. Those planning an expression of sympathy are
