Cross Country Roundup: 3 from county take first at Fremont

FREMONT – Wood County runners were the individual championships in three of the four divisions at the
Norm Bay Class held at Walsh Park Saturday.
Perrysburg’s Kaitlyn Llewellyn and Lakota’s Julia Windom were the individual winners in the girls
divisions. Llewellyn won in 19:57.23 in the Division I race. Windom won the Division II/III race in
20:22.71.
In the boys Division II/III race, Lake’s Zack Powell was first overall in 17:03.84. In the Division I
race, Bowling Green finished second in the team standings.
GIRLS
DIVISION I
Toledo Notre Dame topped the nine-team field with 35 points. Perrysburg was second with 54 and Bowling
Green was fourth with 113 as BG’s Cortney Haubert was fourth overall in 20:20.80.
In addition to Llewellyn, also scoring for Perrysburg were: Andrea Alt, sixth, 20:38.62; Abby Reymann,
12th, 21:09.16; Megan Olzak, 13th, 21:11.56; and Kayl Weisenberger, 22nd, 22:44.56.
Also scoring for BG were: Stephanie Baker, 18th, 22:08.24; Patience Stockwell, 21st, 22:23.32; Abri
Duber, 34th, 23;31.37; and Keri Lutz, 37th, 23:48.42.
Also in the Division I girls race, Elizabeth Lemon, a Bowling Green resident, was second in 20:14.68. She
attends Notre Dame Academy.
DIVISION II/III
Maumee topped the 10-team field with 46 points. Lake was eighth with 193 and Lakota was ninth with 214.

Lake’s top five runners were: Hunter Johnson, 20th, 22:23.37; Stormi Roelle, 38th, 24:20.02; Caitlin
Stickler, 42nd, 24:24.70; Amber Soncrant, 47th, 24:50.75; and Hailee Greenlese, 48th, 24:59.47.
In addition to Windom, also scoring for Lakota were: Leah Gabel, 31st, 23:19.16; Amanda Babcock, 50th.
27:18.30; Amber Steiner, 62nd, 27:37.61; and Melissa Guay, 63rd, 27:55.65.
BOYS
DIVISION I
Toledo Central Catholic topped the eight-team field with 30 points. Bowling Green was second with 70 and
Perrysburg was third with 73.
BG’s top five runners were: Kevin Budge, ninth, 17:55.16; Zack Southward, 11th, 17:56.36; Marshall
Kobylski, 14th, 18:08.68; Brian Seymour, 17th, 18;13.89; and Nolan Saneholtz, 19th, 18:18.49.
Perrysburg’s top five runners were: Bryant Byrd, sixth, 17:44.49; Alex Stringham, 10th, 17:55.76; Wyatt
Hoch, 12th, 18:03.10; Michael Davisson, 21st, 18:20.0; and Sean Moyer, 24th, 18:30.92.
DIVISION II/III
Tiffin Columbian topped the 12-team field with 84 points. Lake was third with 98 and Lakota eighth with
159.
In addition to Powell, other Lake scorers were: Louis Szilagyi, fifth, 17:45.96; Riley Breese, 22nd,
19:07.21; Nathan Scanlan, 31st, 19:31.40; and Steve Stanley, 39th, 19:50.58.
Lakota’s top five runners were: Kyle Babcock, fourth, 17:45.96; Seth Benfer, 14th, 18:39.45; Austin
Garber, 42nd, 19:56.65; Zac Baker, 45th, 20:03.87; and Brock Tiell, 54th, 21:12.20.
