Ralph N. Marshall, of Maumee, passed away on August 28, 2009 in the Swan Pointe Care Center.
Ralph was born to Hazel and Herbert Marshall in Bluffton, Ohio on August 27, 1921.
Ralph graduated from the Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture. Immediately after
graduation, he joined the U.S. Army serving in the European Theater.
He worked for Soil Conservation in Urbana, OH and as Farm Manager of Walnut Hall Farm (Kentucky Horse
Park) in Lexington. He then returned to the family farm near Bluffton before working as a mortgage loan
officer for Prudential. He finished his career in commercial real estate with Gemerchak.
He was a member of Waterville United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Herbert, Jr., Kenneth and Don Marshall.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Rosamond; daughter: Melinda (Gene) Swartz of Monclova,
OH; Son, Dr. Chris Marshall of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren: Stacy (Matthew) Dening of London,
England; Annalies Marshall of Boston, MA and Sheila (Jonathon Proniewski) Swartz of Chicago, IL.
He is also survived by two great-grandchildren: Kate and Abigail Dening
Friends may call at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, on Sunday, August 30, 2009
from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be then held at the funeral home Monday at 1 p.m. with Dr. Robert
Rudolph, officiating.
Those planning an expression of sympathy in Ralph’s name are asked to consider contributions to the
Waterville United Methodist Building Fund or to the Toledo Zoo.
The family would especially like to thank the staff at Swan Pointe Care Center and Hospice of Northwest
Ohio for their compassionate care.
