Conservation meetings set
Two public meetings will be held in September to discuss the new Conservation Stewardship Program. The
meeting will be Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. and Sept. 17t at 10 a.m. at the Woodville Luckey Farmers, 1200 W.
Main St., Woodville.
The CSP sign-up began Aug. 10 and will proceed as a continuous sign-up. There will be periodic ranking
periods where applications will be selected for funding. The first ranking period ends Sept. 30.
Contracts will pay up to $40,000 per year for five years or $200,000 total.
CSP is geared to reward producers for good land stewardship and promote the adoption of new conservation
practices.

Fish farmers to get funding
REYNOLDSBURG – Ohio’s fish farmers can now apply for their portion of $63,202 in reimbursements through
the Ohio Department of Agriculture’s Aquaculture Grant Program. The program will assist producers who
suffered financial losses associated with high feed costs.
A training seminar will be held Sept. 11 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Ohio Department of Agriculture,
Reynoldsburg.
This session is open to the public and will assist anyone interested in putting together an application.
Funding is made available by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
Applications must be received by the ODA no later than 5 p.m. on Sept. 18. For more information, contact

Soil, water district sets meeting
The next monthly board meeting of the Wood Soil and Water Conservation District will be held at 7:30 a.m.
on Sept. 18. It will be held at the district’s office at 1616 E. Wooster St., Suite 32.
