577 Foundation offers organic workshop

The 577 Foundation, located at 577 East Front St. in Perrysburg, will be holding an Organic Gardening
Workshop that will focus on fall gardening and extending the fall harvest.
The workshop is open to the public and will be held on Sept. 13 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Participants will learn to keep the green growing season into late autumn and beyond. Attendees will
receive a tray of cold-hardy veggie plants with tips for growing and planting.
Making a worm composting bin and constructing a portable cold frame are also part of the workshop. All
materials will be provided.
This is a corporative effort between The 577 Foundation, the Lucas County Soil and Water Conservation
District and the Olander Park System.
The fee is $25 per person and pre-registration and pre-payment is required at (419) 874-4174 or on line
