Peggy Jean (Roberts) Nelson, 43, formerly of Bradner, passed away on Sunday August 2, 2009 in Dawson,
Alabama, where she had lived for the past two years.
Peggy was born November 8th, 1965 to Kenneth and Nancy (Bateson) Roberts Jr. in Fremont. She married her
loving husband, John D. Nelson Jr. on July 15, 1989 in Gibsonburg. He survives in Dawson, Alabama, along
with their beautiful children, Nicole and Dylan Nelson. Also surviving are her sisters, Connie (Glen)
Hamilton, Fremont, Ann (Steve) Schowohow, Bettsville; and grandparents Annabel Roberts, Gibsonburg, and
Richard and Leah Bateson, Fostoria.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Dean A. Roberts, paternal grandfather, Kenneth Roberts Sr., and
maternal grandmother, Mabel Bateson.
She was a 1984 graduate of Gibsonburg High School. She worked at Wood County Nursing Home, Hill’s
Department Store, and Fuel Mart before she helped start the Risingsun Community Christian School in
1998, where she was a secretary until 2003. She later worked for the Fremont News Messenger, delivering
newspapers until she moved to Alabama.
Peggy attended Victory Evangelical Church in Risingsun, and was attending Liberty First Congregational
Methodist Church in Dawson, Ala.
Funeral services were held in Alabama, with burial at Liberty Cemetery, Dawson, Ala.
To celebrate Peggy’s life, a Celebration of Life Service will be held at Victory Evangelical Church in
Risingsun, on Saturday, August 29th at 2 p.m.
