N.B. man killed in crash on Route 6

PEMBERVILLE – A North Baltimore man was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident on Wednesday
afternoon at the intersection of Pemberville Road and U.S. 6.
According to the Bowling Green Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at
approximately 2:41 p.m.
Harry A. Snyder, 68, of North Baltimore, was killed after he failed to stop at the stop sign at the
intersection.
According to the patrol, Snyder was northbound on Pemberville Road in a 2004 Ford Taurus and drove into
the path of a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck which was westbound on Route 6.
Snyder’s vehicle was struck in the passenger side by the truck driven by Richard Strobl, 39, of West
Harrison, Ind. Strobl suffered minor injuries and declined treatment. His passenger, Susan M. James, 41,
suffered minor injuries and was transported to Wood County Hospital for treatment.
The patrol indicates that all three individuals were wearing seat belts. The patrol release also noted
alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
The Wood County Sheriff’s office, Pemberville-Freedom Township Fire and EMS and ProMedica Air assisted
the patrol at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
