Caumartin is Kiwanis guest
Bowling Green City School Superintendent Hugh Caumartin will speak to the Bowling Green Kiwanis Club at
noon Thursday at Stone Ridge Country Club.
Caumartin will provide an update on the state of the school system, the local impact of the recently
passed state budget, and a preview of the new Bowling Green Middle School and auditorium. The middle
school opens with the start of classes Tuesday and the auditorium is expected to be ready later this
fall.
Caumartin previously served as the superintendent of Toledo Public Schools from 1980-86. After working in
the private sector for 12 years, he took over as the Bowling Green superintendent in 1997.
He has a bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University and a master’s degree from the University of
Toledo.
Perrysburg personnel mtg. set for Thursday
PERRYSBURG — The city’s Personnel Committee has scheduled a special meeting for Thursday at 5 p.m. The
committee plans to discuss contract negotiations in executive session.
Last day for BG pool is Sunday
The Bowling Green Family Aquatic Complex’s last day of operation this season will be Sunday. The complex
will be closed for the season beginning Monday.
Rec Center open for patrons of Community Ctr.
Bowling Green Community Center pass holders will have free use of the BGSU Student Recreation Center
while the Bowling Green Community Center is closed Aug.17-21 for routine maintenance.
Pass holders will be required to show their Community Center pass at the front desk of the Recreation
Center to gain access and will need to bring their own locks and towels. Patrons can park in Lot 10 or
Lot 16. No childcare will be available.
The BGSU Recreation Center will be open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Information about
the Student Recreation Center can be found at www.bgsu.edu/recwell. A reciprocal arrangement has been
made while the BGSU Student Recreation Center is closed for maintenance.
