Grand jury indicts three for rape

More than 20 individuals were indicted by a Wood County Grand Jury on Aug. 5, including two Perrysburg
men who were indicted for sexual offenses involving juveniles, one for rape; and two others, including a
North Baltimore man, who were indicted for rape. Joseph Richcreek, 26, of Lime City Road, Perrysburg,
was charged with four counts of rape in two separate indictments. The first indictment included one
count from Jan.1 to Dec. 28, 2001, when the victim would have been 12 years old. That included a
specification due to the age of the victim. In the second indictment there are three counts of rape.
Those are alleged to have occurred on Dec. 19 and Dec. 20, 2008 and Feb. 2, 2009. In the last count the
victim is now 20.
Troy Ranes, 36, of Truman Road, Perrysburg, was indicted on two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a
minor. The alleged incidents occurred between Oct. 9 and Dec. 31, 2007 in the first count and Jan. 1 to
Apr. 8, 2008 in the second count. The incidents involved a 15-year-old girl.
Also Benito Meija, 23, of East Broadway, North Baltimore, and Jacob Espana, 20, listed in custody at the
Wood County Jail, were both indicted for rape. Both indictments list a 26-year-old victim with the same
birth date. Meija was also indicted on a separate count of identity fraud involving assuming another’s
identity from Nov. 8, 2005 through July 24, 2009.
Ryan Heck, 22, of Payne, was indicted for felonious assault involving a Feb. 21 incident.
Kyle Prueter, 48, doing business as Great Lake Employment Services, Perrysburg, was indicted on three
charges, failure to remit taxes; failure to file and remit; and theft. The charges involve withholding
taxes for employees from Feb. 1 , 2006 to Dec. 31, 2007. The charge involves a value of more than
$5,000, but less than $100,000.
Ranes’ case will be heard by Wood County Common Please Court Judge Robert Pollex; Judge Reeve Kelsey will
preside in the Prueter; the others are to appear before Judge Alan Mayberry.
Other indictments were handed down for:
¥ Amy Pfeifer, 40, listed in jail, for theft and identity fraud, both with a specification to the victim
being 65 or over (Mayberry);
¥ Chad Brown, 32, Toledo, breaking and entering, theft and receiving stolen property (Mayberry);
¥ William Carver, 19, Tiffin, complicity to trafficking in cocaine (Kelsey);
¥ Chase Breitigan, 22, of Findlay, trafficking in cocaine (Mayberry);
¥ Jon Kitzler Jr., 24, Lime City Road, Perrysburg, trafficking in marijuana, with a specification
(Mayberry);
¥ Jason Taylor,19, Mermill Road, Rudolph, burglary and drug trafficking (Pollex);
¥ Michael Habicht, 26, Fifth Street, Bowling Green, menacing by stalking and aggravated arson (Mayberry);

¥ Michael Sterling, 28, of Jerry City, failure to register as a sexual offender (Pollex);
¥ Kyle Enteman, 25, of Waterville, three counts of deception to obtain dangerous (prescription) drugs
(Pollex);
¥ David Curns, 29, Toledo, robbery (Kelsey);
¥ Terrance Davis, 24, of Toledo receiving stolen property (Kelsey);
¥ Lauren Jones, 45, of Toledo, burglary (Mayberry).
Bills of information in lieu of an indictment were handed down for two individuals:
¥ Brandy Sneller, 32, of Toledo, for fraudulent employee payroll checks. The charge notes more than
$100,000, but less than $500,000 (Kelsey); and
¥ Bryce Mathis, 19, of Toledo, for fleeing from a police officer following a felony (Kelsey).
Defendants in Mayberry’s court will be arraigned Friday at 1 p.m., those appearing before Kelsey will be
arraigned on Monday at 1 p.m., and those facing Pollex will appear next Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
