Harold Hoelter

Harold J. Hoelter, age 77, of Perrysburg, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 21, 2009.

On February 24, 1932 he was born in Luckey, Ohio to John and Anna (Landwehr) Hoelter.
He was a graduate of Troy High School in 1950 where he played football, basketball and baseball.
Harold was married on February 10, 1952 in Luckey, to Joanne Tiede and she survives.
He was employed as a meat cutter and meat supervisor at A&P in Toledo, Ohio and later was the
store manager of their Bowling Green, Ohio store. In August of 1977 Harold purchased the local grocery
store in Luckey, renaming it Hoelter’s Supermarket and ran the store with his family until his
retirement in 1995.
Harold was a fixture in Luckey with everyone appreciating his willingness to always help someone in the
store, his excellent meat locker and his presence always behind the counter. Harold attended Shepherd of
the Valley Lutheran Church, Perrysburg, Ohio. He enjoyed coaching little league, dart ball, bowling and
playing euchre.
Harold is survived by his wife, Joanne; sons, Jon (Janice) Hoelter and Tom (Charlene) Hoelter, both of
Perrysburg; daughter, Tamra (Norm) Mielke of Perrysburg; eight grandchildren, Daniel, Michael, Amber,
Justin, Joseph, Matthew, Jason and Emily; and sister, Arlene Shaw of Silver Springs, Md.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Modesta Brueggemeier; and brothers, Alvin Hoelter and
Wayne Hoelter.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, July 23, 2009 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Marsh Funeral
Home, 110 W. Main St., Luckey, Ohio, where funeral services will be conducted on Friday July 24, 2009 at
11 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. John Rutz. Interment will be in Troy Township Cemetery, Luckey, Ohio.
