COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say the boys’ basketball coach at a high school north of Columbus was
killed when a small experimental aircraft crashed in Knox County.
The State Highway Patrol confirmed that the victim of the Tuesday night crash was 54-year-old Lawrence
Eberst of Delaware, Ohio.
A highway patrol dispatcher said the aircraft was a 2003 Antares MA-33 that crashed near the landing
strip at Chapman Airfield at about 8 p.m.
Kevin Reed, who is the athletic director at Delaware Hayes High School, said Eberst had coached there for
15 years and taught physical education in the district’s elementary schools.
