The 54th Filiere reunion was held June 28 at Bowling Green City Park, with 22 in attendance from Ohio,
New York and Pennsylvania.
Coach "Frenchy" Filiere was president and Marian Dunn Welling was secretary at the first
Filiere reunion, which was held in 1956.
Some of the original Filiere family migrated from France in the 19th century, with some settling in
Liberty and Milton Townships in Wood County, and some in Lucas County.
Memories, photographs and letters were shared by those in attendance.
The group voted to schedule next year’s reunion at the same place and time.
