Rossford’s Zach Leahy and five other boys from Wood County high schools have been selected to the Northwest Ohio District Seven Coaches Association first-team.
Lake’s Kaysie Brittenham was a first-team girls selection. Leahy was the Division II player of the year.
Perrysburg’s Charlie Hughes and Bowling Green’s Chauncey Orr were Division I first-team picks; Eastwood’s Clay Rolf was a Division II first-team selection; and Otsego’s Matt Weisenborn and Elmwood’s Adam Tyson were first-team picks in Division III.
Perrysburg’s Dave Boyce and Rossford’s Brian Vorst were honored as coaches of the year in Division I and Division II, respectively. Lake’s Denny Meyer was the co-coach of the year in girls Division III.
Second-team boys selections were:
• Division II — Eastwood’s Clayton Ruch; Rossford’s Tyler Kralovic and Mitchell Stewart;
• Division III — Lakota’s Josh Kelley;
• Division IV — North Baltimore’s Chris Casey; Northwood’s Ryan Canaday.
Honorable-mention boys selections were:
• Division I — Bowling Green’s Xavier Brown, Tony Dible and Vitto Brown; Perrysburg’s Brian Boyce and Matt Marquette;
• Division II — Eastwood’s Jon Juergens; and Rossford’s Josh Perry;
• Division III — Elmwood’s Jay Hannah, T.J. Waldock and Reid Rothenbuhler; Lake’s Alex Cordell and Joe Vancena; Lakota’s Scott Hoffman and Jake Wiseman; and Otsego’s Tony Gerwin and A.C. Limes;
• Division IV — North Baltimore’s; Corey North; and Northwood’s David Green.
Second-team girls selections were:
• Division I — Perrysburg’s Erin Mesker;
• Division III —Lakota’s Amy Gosche; Otsego’s Baley Bernthisel; Rossford’s Courtney Trenchik;
Honorable-mention girls selections were:
• Division I — Bowling Green’s Bethany Hoehner, Vivian Vazquez and Hayley Williford; Perrysburg’s Kelsea Newman and Alyssa Goins;
• Division III — Eastwood’s Ashley Fairbanks and Kristin Martin; Elmwood’s Emily Reynolds; Lake’s Jessica Abbey, Drew Plummer, Kayla Reilly and Kimberly Meyer; Lakota’s Rachel Hoffman; Northwood’s Becca Bisbee, Rema Abdelhoq and Shayna Hague; Otsego’s Katelyn Downing and Ashley Holzwart; and Rossford’s Abbey Geraghty and Nicole Nirschl.
• Division IV — North Baltimore’s Rachel Flores.
